ex-chamber museumでは、明日7月4日土曜日より、飯島夏香、井上七海、坂本睦美によるグループショー「S-2Ds」を開催いたします。

さまざまな機会を通じて出会った3名の平面作家の作品により、今展は構成されます。それぞれ平面という表現形態こそ同じくするものの、使用するメディアが異なります。それでいて、特徴的な空間構成や制作工程を経て描きあげられる平面作品はそれぞれに個性的な空間性を持ち合わせます。

坂本睦美は紙にインク、という極めてオーソドックスな素材と技法で、独自のドローイングを制作します。建造物や都市空間をモチーフとして採用する一方、基本的に明確な消失点を設定せず、自身が描いた要素にその都度反応するようなアプローチで描かれる空間は、ディテールごとに実に複雑に重力の方向が入り組む独創性あふれるものとなっています。ひとたび認識した三次元性は隣接する要素へ目を移した刹那に破綻する、という相当にスリリングな世界観が導き出されます。また、精緻な線描でありながら基本的に定規を使用せずフリーハンドで制作されている点も注目です。

昨年、武蔵野美術大学の日本画科を修了した飯島夏香は、支持体に和紙を採用し、基本的に鉛筆とアクリル絵の具で素朴に風景を描写していきます。取り上げるのは身近にありそうな日常的な建造物の一場面で、それをユニークなアプローチでデフォルメしていきます。ほぼ直線と、一部の円・楕円や曲線で再構築される情景は、長閑さをたたえつつ、幾何学的に整え直されることで独特のユーモアを放ちます。今回は、修了制作展などでも発表された、273×273mmの作品群による壁面展開も再構築して発表いたします。

京都芸術大学大学院に在学中の井上七海は、純然たるペインティングを起点としてこれまで制作してきました。その空間性も整然とした要素とペインタリーな質感とが共存していたものでしたが、今回は現在制作する方眼のシリーズを発表いたします。昨今のフレッシュな抽象のペインターたちの作品のおおらかさ、表現する世界観の際限のないスケール感における頼もしさも大いに魅力を感じさせてくれますが、井上はあえて表現すればリミットゼロへと制作のベクトルを向けています。ひたすら1mm方眼を描く、というある意味過剰にストイックな展開は、その過程において度々起きるハプニングなどにより微細かつ多様なリズムをそこに導き出します。
